My goat went into labor yesterday and when she had it, it was dead. She is still as big as she was before she had the dead baby though. The vet said that she may have gone into premature labor, i was just wondering how long it would be until she would go into labor again. This is her first pregnancy!

get to a vet in a hurry ..she will die if she can’t get it out..
It’s very hard to tell with pygmy goats because some can look like they swallowed a basketball even if they are not pregnant. It would be best to talk to the vet about it. Most of the time pygmy goats only have one baby in their first pregnancy, but it does happen occasionally that they have more. If she is straining or showing any signs at all of discomfort or “just not acting like herself”, have the vet look at her IMMEDIATELY. If there is another baby it may be turned wrong or something and she is unable to get it out. A problem like that needs quick intervention or she can die.
