When a baby drools does that ALWAYS mean they are teething?

hubby likes to give baby teething medicine every time she drools and he thinks she is teething. I am doubtful. The teething stuff is homeopathic so it doesnt harm her however he ALWAYS thinks it is teething. Also any fussing even though she is tired and anytime she rubs her mouth he assumes teething. Is this right?

no, they just dont know to swallow their saliva
Even if it does mean she’s teething, she doesn’t ned the gel unless she’s in pain. And it doesn’t matter if it’s homeopathic, if it’s unnecessary, don’t use it. Give her teething rings or a frozen washcloth to chew on.
No. Are you teething every time you drool?
Newborns don;t have much control over their bodies. If we had the control they had, we’d drool all the time too.
No, drooling doesn’t always mean they’re teething. They don’t have control over that. Some produce more saliva than others. It also helps them to break down foods and things especially if they’re older and eating snack foods like those rice cake things or whatever. It’s just like dogs when they’re eating they drool. Babies drool when they’re chewing things, no difference.
it doesn’t always mean they are teething. I wouldn’t give her teething medicine unless she is really fussy and she is acting like her gums are hurting. i know i can tell my niece is is hurting from teething when you rub on her cheeks and she stops crying.
You don’t say how old she is.
My son drooled nearly from the day he was born until most of his front teeth were in. It’s hard to keep the spit in when you don’t have any teeth to stop it from leaking out.
However, when he was actually teething, he was a venerable fountain of drool. I had to change his bib all the time to keep his poor chin and neck from getting chapped.
If she is cranky and out of sorts and sticking anything she can find in her mouth, her gums probably hurt and she may need some relief. But you can use a cool wet washcloth that she can bite and suck on or a teething ring you can chill or even give her some zwieback or teething biscuits. You don’t always have to give her medicine unless she gets really fussed. Good luck!
P.S. Don’t assume that everything homeopathic is harmless. Your child can have an allergy to ingredients and unless you made it yourself, there are no controls on the manufacture of this stuff so it might be nothing more than colored water or have something really harmful in it. Always get your pediatrician’s okay on medicine of any kind.
No that doesn’t mean shes teething just because she drools.
He shouldn’t just assume shes “teething” and stick medicine in her gob.
I think your hubby is a bit single minded if it comes to assess baby’s needs. Baby sure does not need teething medicine each time she drools. My baby drooled for more than a months before she cut her first two teeth. I really couldn’t have given her medicine that long.
No, my little cousin Lola is 16.5 months old and still drools but she isn’t teething. They just don’t always know to swallow their own saliva.
Babys drool because they generate A LOT of saliva!
