What should I do with a newborn baby finch that has a handicapped mother?
Well, I thought that my female finch had an egg bound…but it so happens that she laid the egg, it took her about 24 hrs, and she hasn’t recovered yet, which makes me think that she might be suffering from precalciam too….anyways, one of the eggs hatched and now I don’t know what to do, should I put the newborn with the mother who can barely move…..or should I leave the newborn with the daddy??? HELP! & Thanks!

the father should feed it but keep a good eye open on it..you may end up hand feeding
Just leave it alone, let the parents tend to the baby. It will live off the yolk sak for 48 hours.
The parents will care for it. Call a breeder and ask questions, you may have to take the baby to a breeder who has experience with babies.
