What is normal level of hCG in blood if not pregnant? Is it zero, or can it be higher than zero?

The last 3 months I’ve had blood pregnant tests, and my hCG levels have been at 1.3, 0.7, and 0.6. What does this mean? Why aren’t they at zero?

I think normal for non-pregnant women is less than 10. That’s what they use at the hospital I work at, although I’m sure standards can vary somewhat. I don’t know why it’s not exactly zero, but you’re clearly in the very normal range for non-pregnant women.
It’s normal to have trace amounts of hCG in your system, so your results are normal. 5 or higher is considered pregnant, anything less than that is considered not pregnant.
Good luck.
