My husband was telling me that he remembered the nurse saying that we shouldn’t use diaper rash cream until our baby is 6 weeks? Does anyone know if it is okay to use diaper rash ointment in a baby this young?

My daughter age 16 months get the worst diaper rashes when she is teething. I know some docs say they aren’t related but THEY are. I have tried everything, Balmex, Desitin, Butt Paste, Aveeno, Johnson and Johnson. I am sure it isn’t a yeast infection so I was just wondering if any one had any suggestions that maybe I haven’t heard of? The poor thing is just miserable.

My son is 2 weeks old and the doc. told us to use A&D ointment around his private area (because we got him circumsized), and we have been. I’m wondering if I should continue using the A&D ointment around areas that turn reddish??….or use diaper rash cream??
Which one is better and for what use??

What is a good diaper rash ointment to use with cloth diapers? I don’t want to have a bunch of build up or impede absorption.
