newborn peeing threw diaper everytime he goes?

Question by JeanineM: newborn peeing threw diaper everytime he goes?
my son is 6 pounds 14 ounces we have him in pampers newborn swaddlers we still have to fold the diaper down in the front or his umbilical cord would end up right in the diaper.every time he pees it comes right out the diaper.the tapes to seal the diaper have to almost overlap to hold it on. i thought of using a preemie diaper but they say up to 6 pounds so that would seem small but then again i am folding the newborn diaper to fit to him..any ideas thanks
seems to be leaking out the leg and near the back of the diaper never out the front.

Try a different brand, and point his ‘thing’ down when you put his diaper on :]
My daughter cannot use Huggies because they leaked everywhere for her, but she’s great in Pampers. xx

My son is 15 months old. We’ve always used Parent’s Choice diapers since he was born. They completely changed their design with this last box we got and he has a developed a severe rash with beat-red and extremely swollen skin on and around his genital areas. I’ve used diaper rash cream and various ointments and it has only gotten worse. We’ve stopped using the diapers but I was curious if anyone else had come across this and if simply switching diaper brands was the solution.

how to cure a severe diaper rash?

My niece is 2 yrs old and has had a severe diaper rash for over a month month now and it does not want to heal. My sister-in-law already taken her to the doctor for treatment but she still has the rash. It breaks my heart to see her cry every time she tries to pee or poop. Please help me help her!

My son has had this very bad diaper rash on and off for the last two months. It gets so bad that it bleeds. It correlates with very frequent, soft stools. There are so many possible culprits for causes that we are overwhelmed and not certain how to help him. He is very uncomfortable and cries a great deal when it is bad. The area is restricted to just around his anus and is VERY bright red and terribly painful and sensitive. We have a prescription ointment that has a steroid and yeast infection treatment. It definitely helps a great deal and he usually is much better in the morning after having it on all night and no bowel movments during that time. However, while awake during the day the frequent bowel movements return (sometimes up to 3 times an hour) and the rash worsens. The bowel movments are very small and sticky. It is difficult to get him clean without causing him a lot of discomfort. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know what was causing it? How and when did it stop?
I guess some of you didn’t actually read all that i wrote. He is already being treated for a yeast infection with the ointment, also it is a prescription and he has been to the doctor twice for him to see the rash. The last time we were there he suggested it might be teething but that he couldn’t be sure. Chick, your response may be what it turns out to be given all the other stuff we’ve tried and our doctors observations. 6-8 weeks, though it sounds like a long time, actually makes me feel better since I know it ended for someone else.
