Q&A: Chicken Pox: Am I contagious?
Question by Christina: Chicken Pox: Am I contagious?
My girlfriend and her son just came down with the chicken pox yesterday, but my daughter and I were hanging around with them about a week ago. My daughter came down with a bit of a cold the other day and threw up yesterday, so she may be in the beginning stages of it. I had a horrible case of chicken pox when I was younger, so I know I can’t actually contract it, but can I carry it? Im a photographer and I have a sitting on Saturday with a new born baby and a bunch of other children. I dont even know if my daughter has chicken pox yet, but Im wondering if I should reschedule the sitting.

only if you have a fever- after the fever and after the bumps appear you are not contagious as if you had a fever and no bumps

I cannot say for sure
Can you call your pediatrician?
That would be the best person to ask
And Buffy– if a person has the blisters, but not scabbed over then its’ contagious– That I DO remember from when I had them at 14 then my kids had them
If you have it then you are!!!!!
If you had chicken pox once, you will not get them again.
I thought all school age children were to be immunized against chicken pox? I would reschedule the photo shoot only because children will be involved. And no, you cannot be a carrier .
I’ve heard of cases where people get the chicken pox a second time, so I would go to a doctor and get checked out just to make sure.
as long as you wash your hands after being with your daughter you should be fine
here’s the photo.
i couldnt email to you becuase you dont allow it.
