Question by davidneekmaster: Anybody have some suggestions for ideas on a color schemes for newborn baby rooms?
I’m trying to stay away from the ones that look like someone threw up all over the room. Something subtle, nice, and let’s you know that it is a baby’s room.

It depends on if its a girl or boy but a light green or yellow will work for bother or a beige depending on the type of decorations and furniture your going to use.
try doing mix colors. like if its a girls room, you could do like two walls Pink and two walls purple or something like that. if its a boys room go with green and blue or what ever color you like…
obviusly theres the typical baby blue, light pink or yellow thing.
but i would go with light green, it still lets you know theres a baby without using the typical colors.
* i would do like a border with the colors blue or pink with the green.
good luck!
neutral walls, perhaps a cream colour with a border running around the room with animals or the alphabet and numbers on.
Go with a cool color harmony like analogous using blues, greens, violets, and yellows(use yellow sparingly, because the intense color tends to irritate babies’ eyes and make them cry more. You can also go with a monochromatic color theme. Choose your favorite color and use all the highlights and shades of that color. Take out a color wheel and see the many possibilities with color harmonies (diad, triad, tetrad, monochromatic, achromatic, analogous, complimentary, split-complimentary)

By the way, one of my students had a first hand experience with the effect of yellow on his newborn. He and his wife painted their children’s room yellow and noted that they started crying more than they ever had. After doing some research on color and what it does, they found out that babies eyes aren’t able to adjust well, especially when they are still developing, and so the color can be too much for them.
a pale yellow w/ touches of a pale blue or green
I like lavender and white for a nursery. It’s soothing, pretty, and works for a boy or girl.
I did a mix of Little Rascals and Nipper the RCA Dog. I had black and white prints and just did solid colors for the bedding. It was very nice and it wasn’t hokie like most of the boy bedding and accessories I saw in the stores.
