How do I know for sure that my 15 week old baby is teething? He is fussy, drooling, irritable, not sleeping?
Can someone help me. My 15 week old baby is very fussy, drooling, irritable and isn’t sleeping. I think he may be teething but i’m a first time mom and really don’t know how to releive his pain or if teething is the cause. He just started this a week ago.
I did rub my finger along his gum line and i don’t feel anything but him wanting to bite down on my finger.I nurse him and i feel a change in the way he sucks. I had him at the doctor yesterday and he checked out to being healthy.I put some baby orajel on and he seems to calm down right away and i don’t want to give him tylenol all day long. Teething rings work for about 5 minutes.

He is not teething at 15 weeks old. Are you feeding him enough?
He might be. Mine had 2 teeth showing at 10 weeks so it’s VERY possible at almost 4 months. Wash your hands and run your finger along his gums to see if you feel anything. Check with your doctor if baby tylenol is OK to give at this age.
Edited to add: The 2 BOTTOM teeth are usually the first the come in. Just because others have not experienced early teething does not mean it does not happen.
don’t worry he’s not teething
well thats how you know!
Look at his gums and see if you can spot the beginnings of little teeth buds trying to poke through. His gums will be round and maybe a little red where the teeth may be coming in, you may also see the white of the teeth through the gums. Frozen waffles work great as teethers, they’re cold and hold the drool. Tylenol might also help or grab some baby ambesol or gum soothing ointment at the store. Every baby is different and even though he’s young, he could be getting teeth this early. I have friend with an almost 1 year who has no teeth and no signs of any teeth coming in. You just never know.
It would be hard to imagine a 15 week old baby is teething. I would take the baby to a pediatrician for a check.
It sure sounds like he is! If you really want to know, wash your hands well and run a finger over his gums. You can feel and see the teeth trying to come in.
Get teething rings (buy more than one). Store them in the freezer. Give him one to chew on. It helps a lot. If necessary, there are numbing medications out there to rub on the gums, like Ambisol, but I wouldn’t resort to that unless the child is screaming in pain. Teething rings and patience, mom. Best of luck to both of you. Remember, the fussiness is totally normal in this phase.
that is what newborns do. usually they do not start teething until about 5 or 6 months old. dont worry it is normal
it is possible that he is teething..one big proof for that is that he is drooling and irritable..the poor baby is feeling uncomfy because of that..please take the baby to the doctor for check up and some medications..
I am a mom and have been for eleven years so I know that this can be a very trying time. It sounds like he may be teething and teething can even cause a low fever. Feel his gums with your forefinger and see if there are any swollen parts or really hard areas. Most often times their front, top teeth will come in first. There are many things you can do to relieve his pain. Give him a teether ring that you is frozen or maybe even get some Anbesol at your local drug store. Call your babies doctor and see if there is a pain reliever that you can give him like baby Tylenol. Good luck and God bless.
If you’re breast feeding, you may find out the hard way. My mother said I gave her a painful bite with the first tooth.
He might be teething. Clean your hands and feel his gums… are they swollen? Do they have little bumps? If the baby is in full teething mode, you can usually feel the teeth under the gums. Orajel doesn’t work very well (at least, it didn’t for me)… but if he IS teething, try a cold, wet washcloth for him to chew on. Someone suggested that to me, and it worked.
He could be teathing, but it’s not very likely at 15 weeks. I would have his doctor check him out, could be an ear infection or sore throat. Ears might be hurting when he swallows, making him drool.
15 week, sounds a bit too soon to start teething.Does he seem to rub his gums? Any protrusions there? See a pediatrician, it just might be something else.
Yes,I have 3 kids and it is possible to be teething at this age. Some are born with teeth. He could also have colic, that would make him cry alot.
He may be just try putting baby orgel on him gums if you run your finger over his gums and feel anything and see if he stops fussing my daughter had her first tooth at 4 months but my friends baby was born with two teeth.
he could be just discuss your concerns with your pediatrician
He could be teething, but the only way to really be sure is to see if the irritability continues until the first tooth appears and then stops. Some babies seem to be in teething pain for a *long* time before the little teeth actually appear.
Drooling was the biggest sign for both of my kids but usually teething does not effect the sleep–My doctor said it should not. If it is effecting his sleep I would take him in to your doctor to make sure he does not have an ear infection. I do not think that being fussy ALL the time would be teething. Good luck!
prob is try teething tablets
My baby stated teething at 12 weeks and didn’t actually get a tooth until like 7 mos…give baby a cold pacifier or wasclothe, if he gums it and is soothed…then its teething
