I’m no wine connoisseur, so i have no idea how to tell if this stuff is still good. What do you think? Will I be violently ill? Projectile vomiting?

Question by abbbijo: Is this an okay reason to ask for a new roommate?
I live in a university residence hall in a 3 bedroom suite. We have 2 (TWO!) bathrooms.

The girl I share a bedroom with seems to have a VERY delicate stomach and gets really bad hangovers. She goes out drinking every weekend and spends the whole next day throwing up. She also seems to get food born illness/stomach problems all the time. I mean this is at least once every week.

So one of the bathrooms is lots closer to our bedroom than the other one is and it ends up being the one that she and I use most frequently. She gets it clogged with her diarrhea/vomit, and then keeps using it. So feces and vomit pile up in there, even though she could go use the other bathroom.
She never cleans up these messes. She was sick all day yesterday, clogged up the toilet and left a trashcan with vomitty tissues, then went away to a field hockey tournament for the weekend leaving me to clean it up, or just deal with the stench permeating the apartment for 2-3 days.

As I see it, if she’s healthy enough to go play field hockey, then she’s healthy enough to clean up after herself.

I don’t know how to talk to her about this without offending her or being accusations and bitchy, but it’s a problem. There are also lots of other problems like, eating my food without asking, and having her gentleman friends stay the night without first letting me know.

I want to get a new room, but the RA is being a little uncooperative about that. We got roommate agreements and Housing seems to think that will make the problems go away.

Best answer:

Answer by Living*Some*Life
you should talk to her about it because i have the same problem and we talked it out and if she doesn’t want to work it out then you should maybe look in to another roommate or tell the collage people about it. good luck

Question by AudieVee: How is it that I am hell-bound, and a born again Christian child molester is not?
I am agnostic/atheist. I do not believe there is sufficient evidence of a deity, so I don’t believe in any. I am a pretty good person, though. My husband and I are lower middle class (or just barely above poverty). Still, we donate over 15% of our income to charity. We donate time when we can, we are raising our children to be open minded, loving, and caring people. We do for others before ourselves. We live simply, and have very little excesses. We tend not to judge others because we have no idea what led them to the place they are. Seriously, I’m not trying to toot my own horn, but this is how I strive to live. Not for selfish reasons or to keep a god from smiting me, but because it is what should be done.

Now, I wasn’t raised this way. I was abused, neglected, homeless, starved, and responsible for raising a younger sibling starting when I was 11 years old. My brothers and I were always the last priority. We were beaten by whatever random alcoholic that mom brought home. That all changed about 5 years ago when mom found God. She turned her life around (AWESOME)! It was nice to see her so clean and devoted, even if she did just trade in her alcohol and sex addictions for another one. Before too long, though, she became one of THOSE born again Christians. The ones who tell you how evil you are, and that you are going to hell because you haven’t given yourself to Jesus. Now, she is telling me that my autistic son is God’s punishment for my disbelief. Also, her new husband likes to throw his own kind of sage advice my way. Yeah, he’s born again also. Only after repeatedly molesting his own daughter while she grew up. Awesome. If it were just my crazy mom and this guy, I would ignore it and move on. It isn’t, though. Many other religious folks seriously believe I am a worse person for being faithless than those who have repented for some seriously messed-up deeds. How is this???

Lastly, I’m not the kind of person that generally dwells on what others say. My mom has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and I am messed up about all of this. I feel like a jerk for not being there while she goes through this, but I can’t just sit and take the abuse because she is dying. That’s a whole other topic, though. Thanks for reading, and for any light you can shed on this for me.
Thanks for all your input so far. John G, I know stage 4 doesn’t mean what it used to. HOWEVER, she has refused all treatment except the removal of the largest mass. The smaller masses in her liver, kidneys and lymph nodes are still there. She is waiting for God to heal the rest. I hope for the best, but certainly don’t have her faith.

I also should mention that they live in the Chicago area and I am now in Tennessee. So, her husband is not a physical threat. Really, this all boils down to the fact that I don’t hold grudges and I want to have a good relationship with her. It is not in my nature to be spiteful or angry, even if others would understand why I acted that way.

For the Christians that responded seriously, I thank you. I know that not all act as my mom does. It is just very hard to understand. I rely on reason, and there seems to be absolutely no reason in what she says. I have always tried very hard to do no harm. If I failed at that (as I am not perfect), I
It seems my last edit got cut off. Ah well. I was basically saying that I do my best to right any wrongs I have ever done. This all just hurts so much more because of the circumstances and timing. That, and I’ve never gotten anything near an apology for the shaky upbringing. I just don’t want it to be this way.

Best answer:

Answer by Jesus or Hellfire
Because you’re an unforgiven sinner.

Anyone can be forgiven, even a child molester.
If he truly was born-again, he would cease to be one.

You’ve seen what God has done in her life, Jesus saves.

Question by deans_mom: Baby is vomiting?
My 9 month old is projectile vomiting ( not spitting up.. I do know the difference) at least 4 times a day and has been for about 5 days now. He is running a low grade fever that goes down right away with tylenol. He vomits randomly and every time he eats and has a bottle. I took him to the dr. Yesterday and they said that they couldn’t find anything wrong, and its probably a virus. She told me to give him pedialite (which he keeps vomiting up) and that if his temp gets higer than 102 and he vomits more then 4 times that he needs to be seen. I don’t know what to do! He has vomited 4 times already today and is very fussy and i think he is starting to get dehydrated, how can I help him?
I took him back to the dr and she said that he is mildly dehydrated and to keep giving him pedialite…. even though he keeps throwing it up. I guess I will just keep taking him in every day until they get sick of seeing me and do something for him!

Answer by Costellika
He got used to being on your arms or he has colic.
Try putting him in a stroller or a baby carrier and rocking him to sleep.
If that doesn’t work try buying like a baby swing from wal-mart.

Question by : my 3 week old projectile vomited?
so me and my boyfriend were doing the night feed last night. and i went to heat up his bottle because it was cold. my boyfriend told me that he projectile vomited. the baby was sitting on his lap and ended up missing his other leg and landing on the couch. this is the first time my newborn has done that. is there anything to worry about?

Best answer:

Answer by Kristofer’s mommy
It happened a few time to my son. He either caught a little virus or over eated when it happened. Just make sure he keeps some of his milk down. If it happens a few times, call his pediatrician. Babies can get dehydrated easily.
