It’s alcohol, do you want to give your infant liquor?
No, do not use it. It contains alcohol which isn’t safe in any amount for infants. Either use medications designed specifically for teething babies, or use a refrigerated (not frozen) washcloth to hold against her gums. Do not give the washcloth to her, hold it yourself.
i really dont think thats going to do anything..i dont see how that would numb gums it has not numbing effects, and ive never heard of it…and imatation vanilla is fake so that means it made out of a whole bunch of other stuff just to taste like vanilla..i would get some all natural teething tablets there cheap and they work and theres no harm/side effects and you can get them from walmart target walgreens anywhere thats sales meds..
if you go to target u have to get them from behind the counter..there not out on the shelves.
It can wear on the gum line.
No its not safe to use and you should tell your friend that too. It has alcohol in it which is what would be numbing the gums but not to any good effect on the baby thats for sure! You would be better off going for a safer option like oragel or something similar
imitation will do nothing, but vanilla will do the same thing as whiskey, if that says something. Vanilla has 35% alcohol by volume. Try Hylands natural teething tablets.
no. please let your friend know that it is not safe to put alcohol in a baby’s mouth. babies and alcohol do not belong together. baby orajel, is a good solution as are cold teething rings. and a cold cloth
First, imitation vanilla is useless for having any effect. Next, real vanilla essential oil has warming properties– it is a vaso-dilator– this means that it warms the area of application by increasing blood flow. Teething causes inflammation in the gums. Applying any product that causes vaso-dilation will further inflame the area– making the condition worse. Vanilla aroma is soothing for this reason– the body is warmed, the heart doesn’t have to work quite as hard– but the warming on skin can cause sensitivity. The (very) general rule for essential oils is: green herbs are vaso-constricting and cooling (anti-inflammatory,) florals are vaso-dilating and warming (inflammatory,) spices are vaso-dilating and warming, woody oils are moisturizing in a topical lubricant way, citrus oils are stimulating and astringent. Your friend has her information backward– I’m sorry– teething is tough!
my sis in law used it for her daughter as well hasher mother with her. and i just recently used it with my four month old daughter. nothing works for her not tablets or oragel or rings washclothes nothing til i tried vanilla extract. she was happy to be pain free and i was happy to hear her laugh instead of cry! it maybe an old wives tale but it’s one that works. ur baby wont get drunk their no side effects or anything. i did do some research before using it. weather u use it or not is up to. i wasn’t comfortable with the idea at first but i was desprite and out of options and lucky me it work!
Look the fact of the matter is that people are too emersed in this safe crapola %$^&*. your mother gave it too you. I don’t see the point of letting your little one suffer because all the negitive %$^&* your teenage children has done including you with alcohol. The tip of you finger wet with vanilla contain 0.0011% ETOH, you are not giving the whole dam bottle. Ever give your child grape juice, apple peach? Before juice become juice it undergoes mild fermentation has that ETOH which is 0.0011% alcohol hurt your baby? I gave my daddy kittle girl vanilla and it was the only thing that worked. Now she eats and plays and no ear infections. By all means listen to your gut or just give the vanilla.
