My 10 year old cat occasionally has rashes on her behind from occasional diarrhea, very painful looking. I give her a bath with warm water, pat dry. (usually get a scratch or two out of the deal)
Can i use a ‘over the counter’ diaper rash ointment on my Cat? Say a pat or two on her behind? To relieve her agony and pain.
Thanks for answering
PS i lov my cat

When I had orphan kittens they developed “diaper” rash and I used drugstore ointment for babies on them (Penaten cream if remember correctly). It was fine, they sure didn’t like the stickiness and they walked a little funny but it definitely helped.
Just use plain old vaseline (petroleum jelly)
It okay if you kitty eats it too, it’s the same stuff used in hairball medicine.
I am not sure but you can always call the vet and ask maybe they have something I hope This Helps
Ps: I hope your cat feels better
before I used anything like that, I would use lansinoh lanolin in the tube. Its made for breastfeeding mothers and its safe if swallowed. I use this on my babies instead of the harsher ointments and it does a much better job. Its thicker and waterproof too so its won’t likely come off too easily.
Well as it could be poisonous to your cat, i recommend you go to the vets and find out whats wrong with her, but if you know her symptoms i suggest go to another way and that’s to the pet shop.
