I have heard of parents giving teething babies ( who don’t yet have any teeth ) pickles to gnaw on. Is this ok?

My daughter would hate me if I gave her a pickle at such a young age. The taste would not be a pleasure to her…
Why not give baby a carrot to gnaw on if it needs to be food..
I don’t know about pickles…it seems like the juice might upset their tummy? isn’t it really acidic?
I’ve heard of carrots…As long as your baby doesn’t have teeth yet and can’t bit a piece off then it should be ok to gnaw on. peeled, fresh, and clean of course
Please don’t give a pickle to a young child. Anything pickled can be harmful because the contain a lot of acid.
if it were me Id cut a piece put in the freezer then into a mesh feeder thing so it’s cold and the baby can suck on it with no fear of choking because its in mesh
I woulden’t. Vinegar is veryyy acidic which can upset a babys stomach VERY easily. I would give your baby a carrot. So unless you want a baby with an upset stomach, don’t give them anything acidic or in this case, with vinegar. Hope i helped.
Pickles are extremely high in sodium, a baby doesn’t need all that salt.
my babies all loved pickles. surprisingly, some babies enjoy sour things and pickles are good because it’s easy to hold and won’t break off unless the baby can bite off a piece. the pickles are cool and bumpy, just nice for sore gums.
